Welcome to another exciting episode of Weekend Writing Warriors! Spring is in full bloom here in Oregon, I finished my latest WIP and started a new job. Things are looking much rosier here on Earth than they are in space.
I’m posting from my m/m erotic space opera From Mars, With Love and will continue torturing my hero until I reach the end of the chapter. Last week we left poor Eli being prepared for stasis by two of the slavers: an asteroider (altered-human) and a floating, multi-armed robot called a crab. The crab noticed the ring on Eli’s finger and took a disliking to it.

“Leave it,” the asteroider said.
“I’ve analyzed it and do not recognize the metal compound. It might interfere with the electronics in the pod.” The crab kept trying to twist it loose and Eli feared the bot might rip his hand off along with the ring.
“What do you mean you don’t recognize it? This is earth, not the Oort! Well, fine, cut it off. We can always grow him a new finger.”

Eeep! I wish I could post the whole scene, I really do, but rules are rules.
By the way, you can still enter to win a Loose Id gift card and a copy of Touch of Salar at the giveaway for my Book Tour. Blood received 5 Star/Heart Reviews from two of the blogs on the tour so far! Check it out here.

This post is part of an ongoing blog hop hosted by Weekend Writing Warriors. Every Sunday, participating authors post eight sentences from a published work or perhaps their current work in progress. Then we hop to our fellow warriors’ blogs and check out all the fabulous fiction that’s happening! I heartily invite you to participate as a reader, writer, or both. It’s a great way to discover your next favorite book. Click here or use the address: http://www.wewriwa.com
What a cliffhanger! I WILL be reading next week’s piece. Thank you for sharing.

What a world you’ve created. The names alone crack me up and the humor in the last line. I’m with Eli. HELP!

Yikes! Just cut it off??!! wow, rough place. I really don’t like the crab, or the asteroider for that matter. Great 8, Alexis!

That’s a terrifying predicament! Reminds me of the story my eighth grade Spanish teacher told about watching some criminal cut off a woman’s finger for her ring on the New York City subway.

Eeekkk!?! Oh my, you’re such a cliff-hanger tease! Lol, fabulous snippet. I’m keeping my fingers and toes crossed that Eli can keep his ring and his finger…and now I’m curious where it’s coming from.
Great picture;).
