Seductive Studs ~ Such Devotion

square_SeductiveStuds

Welcome to Seductive Studs, the blog hop dedicated to m/m romance by the people who read, write and review it.

This week I’m sharing an excerpt from Curse of Salar, Book 3 in the Masters and Mages series.  In this scene Prince Mira is dreaming of a forbidden dalliance with a soldier from outside the court.  His allegedly devoted servant Jai has made the mistake of revealing his jealousy.

***

Jai blanched white beneath his tan, his eyes wide. “No! Please believe me Prince Mira, I think only of you.” He advanced, knelt in front of Mira and took his hand, which he kissed and pressed to his forehead. Mira almost believed him. It would be pleasant to believe in such devotion.

He placed a palm on Jai’s silken hair, a signal he was no longer angry. Jai shifted his cheek so that it pushed against Mira’s cock and smoothly slid a hand along Mira’s thigh.

Mira sat back against the edge of the wall and placed his hands behind him on either side. Jai deftly undid the tie of Mira’s loose pants. Mira titled his head back and gazed up at the faint spray of stars. The lights of the capitol city dimmed their radiance, as life in the palace dimmed all the keener sensations of life.

Stay tuned for the soon to be revealed release date!

The blurb:

In the desert kingdom of Jahar, the rule of mages has been overthrown and the ancient lineage of sorcerer kings wiped out. Prince Mira and his sister are the last living members of the royal family and are held prisoners in their ancestral palace.

Prince Mira lives a life of lies and deceit. In order to stay alive, he must pretend to be a drug-addicted wastrel, trusting no one, isolated from even his sister who has chosen to cooperate with the government that executed their parents.

Into his lonely existence comes a man who should be his sworn enemy; Captain Rayn Matisse. Mira is irresistibly drawn to the rough soldier and his longing for a simple sexual encounter quickly morphs into a dangerous obsession.

Captain Rayn Matisse knows he should stay far away from Prince Mira, but his desire for the beautiful young man overrides all common sense. Despite the fact that Mira’s ancestors destroyed Rayn’s family, the captain finds himself in a position of protecting the prince from the many schemers who believe the last of the mages should be annihilated.

When treachery leads to Mira’s escape, he is at last free to bond with the serpent god Ka’alar and develop his long repressed powers. Only the arrival of a mysterious monk with powers greater than Mira’s stops the prince from using black sorcery to destroy all who stand in his way, including Rayn.

As Jahar edges toward another war between masters and mages, Rayn must question his devotion to his increasingly deadly lover while Mira must decide if ultimate power is worth the ultimate sacrifice.

Seductive Studs~ Don’t Press Your Luck

Hello and welcome to Seductive Studs, the blog hop dedicated to the promotion of love, m/m style.  I’m continuing from where I left off last week, a scene from Curse of Salar, third in the Masters and Mages series.(I hope to finish Curse this weekend. Wish me luck!) Prince Mira has gone against all the palace rules and allowed Captain Matisse, a visiting diplomat, into his presence.  Things are not going exactly as he planned.

***

Mira clenched his jaw. All of his training as a prince reared up in resistance to the man’s flippancy even as his body responded to the captain’s heady presence. He decided to ignore the teasing for the moment.

“If I invite you into my presence, I must wait for you to take your seat.”

“I thought I invited myself.” Matisse smiled and looked at the bench, the wine, Mira. His gaze darkened. “So I could keep you standing all night?”

“Don’t press your luck, Captain,” Mira said.

Matisse’s smile spread into a grin, a fearsome expanse of teeth that made Mira’s loins tighten. “But press I must. I’m under the impression we have very little time together and yet you appear to be locked in your role of untouchable prince. Tell me what you would have me do.”

“Sit,” Mira commanded. “Drink some of the damn wine.”

Return of Seductive Studs

Seductive Studs M/M Bloghop is back! Yes,  the world needs more hot guys in love and I’m more than happy to help with that.  My excerpt this week is from my WIP, Curse of Salar, Book Three in the Masters and Mages series.  In this scene, Prince Mira has allowed Captain Matisse into his private quarters.  Alone for the first time with the man he’s been fantasizing about, Mira experiences the unfamiliar sensation of doubt.

~~~
Mira took the opportunity to admire the captain’s physique. He recalled watching the muscles knot and flex as Matisse defeated him repeatedly on the shibar field, and how he’d imagined being subdued by such strength in bed.   Faced with the very real possibility, Mira thought he must have been mad. He could never allow himself to be dominated so completely. He had no hold over the man. Matisse wasn’t a servant. He had no respect for Mira’s divinity.
Fear warred with lust. Mira could summon the guards with one word.
Matisse observed him in return, grey eyes unreservedly skimming Mira’s entire length without the slightest glimmer of awe or reverence.
“Those clothes don’t look comfortable,” he said and stepped closer. He froze at the look of disapproval that must have flashed in Mira’s eyes.
After a moment, the captain smiled. “You’re undecided. Perhaps it takes a fight to get you excited.”
~~~

Here’s a little inspiration for Rayn Matisse.  No wonder Mira is feeling a bit intimidated.

I’m continuing with excerpts from my current release, Touch of Salar.  M’lan, the monk with the healing touch, is treating the man he knows only as the major for the first time.  He’s having a hard time staying detached.

***

M’lan never asked for this life of passionless sacrifice. He released his frustration on the major’s perfect ass. One hand on the curve of the back where the smooth spine began to slope toward the anus, he pushed on a knot of muscles with the other fist, remembering occasionally to breathe and call on the healing energy.

Thank goodness the monks were required to wear loose, chaste clothing. His erection would be considered most unseemly. The silk of his robe stuck to his sweaty back, and he wished he could peel it off and press skin against skin. He leaned close, mouth watering inches away from a slick buttock. How he’d like to slide his tongue down that deep groove.

“Don’t hold back,” the major said, snapping him out of a most inappropriate fantasy.

He cleared his throat. “What?”

“Don’t worry about hurting me. I know you can go harder.”

About Touch of Salar:

In a world ruled by tyrannical kings and fickle gods, the young monk M’lan finds himself at the center of royal intrigue as his healing powers attract the attention of his superiors. When he learns the handsome warrior whose body he’s tending to is not only a noble, but a king’s assassin, any attachment to him might prove fatal. Despite the danger, he can’t stop himself from falling in love. Can he risk the abandon of passion when a slip of the tongue might force his lover to execute him?

Major Jamil Jarka comes to the temple with one intention—heal his wounds so he can return to the fight against the rebellion. When the monk assigned to him turns out to be stunningly attractive, he sees this as a pleasant distraction, no more. But soon he finds himself becoming obsessed with M’lan and is torn between the fear of betrayal and the lure of love.

Sinister forces strive to turn the monk and the warrior against each other—a conflict neither will survive if they cannot trust their lives to love and the healing power of Salar.

I’m continuing with excerpts from my current release, Touch of Salar.  M’lan, the monk with the healing touch, is working on a wounded warrior he knows only as “the major”.

***

The major’s perfect ass was unyielding. The tattoo of curling shard vines and small snakes led directly into the crease between the buttocks, and M’lan’s fingers wanted so much to glide right inside him. This transgression could get him dismissed from the order, cast down to a field hospital, and possibly beaten by the major himself. One never knew the preferences and prejudices of a patient. Besides that, their sharply distinct classes prohibited social interaction.

M’lan kept away from the danger area, plunging his knuckles into the hard, wiry muscles below the hip. He was starting to sweat heavily, and not just from the exertion. The major’s breaths became louder as he strained not to reveal his discomfort. A warrior would never ask a monk to back off, to be gentler, and M’lan took this as a sort of challenge, a wicked impulse that wouldn’t occur to a true monk.

I’m continuing with excerpts from the first chapter of my current release, Touch of Salar.  M’lan, the monk with the healing touch, is working his magic on a wounded warrior.

***

“If the pain becomes too much, let me know.”

The major let out a little huff of air. “I seriously doubt you can hurt me, monk.”

M’lan smiled. His strong fingers—fingers that knew exactly where the deepest injuries lurked—reduced these tough fighting men to gasps and tears easily enough. He happened upon a stiff sinew that refused to give way, and concentrated on it, calling on the energy that flowed through the temple walls. He felt it ripple through him and penetrate the smooth skin under his fingers. The major let out a muffled groan. The hard spot softened, and M’lan moved on, loosening, softening, probing.

Along with sulfur and sweat, the major smelled of a hot spice, like red pepper. M’lan worked his way down both sides of the spine, doing an admirable job of keeping his mind on abstract visions of the muscles beneath his hands. Until he reached the buttocks.
